Seagate Hard Drive Data Recovery After Head Replacement

A Seagate hard drive came to Data Recovery Centre with damaged read/write heads. We replaced the heads, regained access to the data and successfully completed the recovery.

Removed Seagate hard drive head assembly

The problem

The drive had physical damage affecting its head assembly. Our assessment identified that head replacement was needed to access the stored data.

The photographs above document the drive’s internal components and the removed head assembly during this recovery job.

The recovery work

Our team removed the damaged head assembly and installed replacement heads. This allowed us to access the drive and recover data that had been inaccessible because of the head damage.

The result

The head replacement was successful, and we recovered data from the Seagate hard drive.

This case demonstrates a successful recovery following physical head damage. The outcome of another drive will depend on its condition and the extent of the damage.
